I know Debbie meant to say Edith Holden, but I thought the name Edith Wharton sounded familiar. So I checked and then it dawned on me, Edith Wharton was also a fabulous women of the same period. She wrote "The Age of Innocence" and my favorite "Ethan Frome". She was an American author who wrote in a similar fashion as Jane Austen. Edith Holden born in England, was a teacher and artist who died tragically; she had tried to reach a branch of chestnut buds. The bough was out of reach and with the aid of her umbrella Edith had tried to break it off, fallen forward into the river and drowned. Very sad end to her interesting and creative life. Both were incredibly talented women.CraveCutehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17266646948003488534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4059731033561256727.post-44051178679976584962013-02-05T18:00:16.421-06:002013-02-05T18:00:16.421-06:00For me, January is the month that I can do without...For me, January is the month that I can do without (so dull and gloomy), and I'm happy that's over and done with. I can handle February because Valentine's Day comes along and brightens things up a bit. But...oh March...I love that month from day one!
