Dear Winter

Dear Winter,
I really love you when you first show up! I'm always so excited to see the first few snowflakes cover the bare ground... But, I fear you've outlived your welcome.  Please make haste and leave! Take with you the piles and mountains of snow that you've left us!  Let the temperatures rise above freezing for a day or so that we might melt some of this whiteness away and perhaps spring will have a chance to arrive and with it the color of green!
Sincerely,
Winter Weary

The winter snows were so late getting here and the ground was almost bare for the Christmas holidays, but now that spring is a mere few weeks away, winter seems bound to stay forever!

The absence of color is something that the eyes grow weary of over time. I'm ready to look out the window and see green! First the green of the lawn and then the green buds on the trees appear. I miss that color so much right now. If you're like me and live in a cold climate you're ready for all sorts of colors bye now so here are a few images to perk you up!

Pair of Elves

Elves taking over the fairy garden.

Killer icicles waiting for a victim.

Images taken a few summers ago before Dot learned how to "Houdini" her way out of her harness no matter what we did.  Guy still hasn't figure it out, bless his little heart!

So much color in the garden that it almost hurts the eyes at first!
What a treat it is to look back at all the colorful images!

We're expecting another big snowfall this weekend, but the temperatures next week will be above freezing so let's hope it starts to melt away!

Take care friends and enjoy your week!

  1. You've got a lot of snow! I agree, Winter can bugger off any time now and good riddance!

  2. Oh my gosh, yes! Bugger off, Winter. It's enough already. It does get tiring after months with no colour outdoors.

I always love when you share photos of Dot and Guy. They are both so beautiful.

  3. It felt like spring in England at the end of February with some of the highest temperatures ever recorded, but now winter has returned. No snow so we are fortunate, but we do get fed up with rain and grey skies. Can't complain (even though I am!) because there are daffodils flowering and blossom on the trees - but some sunshine would be lovely. I enjoyed all your photos even the snowy ones.
I hope winter leaves you in peace soon. xx

    1. Yes, too much snow! It's melting around here too with much warmer temps above freezing. Now of course some people are worried about flooding! Yes that's our backyard garden taken towards the back of the house. Thank you Stacy! Hugs back to you and yours!

  6. Your cats look so happy and curious! Snow happened a few times here but not very heavy, but as I live where I live, of course the whole metro area shut down a few times ;)
