Gingerbread Dreams

After all these years, I still love visiting Pinterest to see what kind of outlandishly beautiful things people are posting.  I was pulled in again this past week by some images of incredible Gingerbread House designs.

I think this was all brought on because I have been watching some of the Baking Challenges on TV over the past few weeks.  Anyway, as I started looking at a few of these, I was captured by the pure fantasy and artistry of it all.  I think I would love to just step into one of these magical worlds for a little while.  Hope you enjoy them too!

...... And what's a Gingerbread House without some fun little friends!

Very cute idea to do with the kids! (Nice change from decorating a gingerbread house or nice addition to one!) 828885_bear-closeup.jpg (400×450):

I've made decorated cookies (it's been awhile), but I've never actually made a gingerbread house from scratch.  How about any of you? Every tried your hand at one of these?

  1. We've never made gingerbread from scratch (used a kit instead) but My Rare One and I have had many adventures decorating gingerbread houses over the years! If you want to see our handiwork (!) just c'mon over to my blog and click on "Gingerbread Houses" in the Labels list on the sidebar.

    1. Hey Debra... I just checked out your gingerbread posts! They are adorable, the Chalet and the Asian themed are my faves!

  2. Oh, these gingerbread houses are delightful, Diane. I love the white winter land one. The red candy cane one is sweet also. I am wondering what that little snowman is made out of, it's so cute?

    Have a terrific week.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. The snowman is made of white and black fondant, icing and a toothpick nose. Pure sugar!

  3. Hi Diane,

Making a gingerbread house would be a lot of fun. Amazing photos and what a clever cookie you are, Diane :)

On behalf of Hansel and Gretel, I'm going now....

    Gary :)

  4. These look so beautiful. I've never really tried to put together a gingerbread house. Cookies seems so much easier! :)

  5. Diane, everything here is gorgeous, including the music! Your blog is such a haven from the chaos in the world. Thank you!!!

  6. What an amazing collection of houses. Yum!

  7. Diane, you made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Thank you! These are all truly amazing! Wow! So beautiful! I have never made one. Maybe one day?? ;o) I hope everything is well! Merry Christmas!

  8. I LOVE the bear on candy cane skis! It has been years since I made a gingerbread house. I should do that again.

Thank you for leaving a comment! I do read them all and will try to respond if I'm able. Please know that all comments are appreciated, I love to hear your thoughts on my posts! ~ Diane
