OK, they say butterfly, but I say fairy!
Autumn Fairy by M.T. Ross |
Faeries, come take
me out of this dull world,
For I would ride
with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of
the disheveled tide,
And dance upon the
mountains like a flame.
~William Butler
Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894
Have a great week all!
Those are beautiful illustrations. I loved reading fairytales when I was a child. I think they encourage children to use their imagination - not that I needed any encouragement!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors in the illustrations - I see the comment above by Sulky Kitten - about using the imagination and not really needing the encouragement. That's true about me sometimes too. Where was I reading today about not growing up? Well, staying young on the inside, that is.
ReplyDeleteSome great quotes too!
Beautiful illustrations Diane on my favourite topic. I never stopped enjoying fairy tales and I never will! Your quotes are very good - such lovely ideas. I enjoyed the video too - a lot of effort went into it and she manages to achieve a magical effect.
ReplyDeleteI thought the video was really cute too! Love her voice!
DeleteI love fairy tales. I have written about the fairies drawn by Mary Cecily Barker, she is from Croydon, England, same birthplace as my husband.
ReplyDeleteJust added a bunch more Fairies to my Pinterest board Angels and Fairies. Pretty sure I added some of her images. Her work is gorgeous!
DeleteThis is so cute!!! I love fairy tales. They are amazing and have so much to say
ReplyDeleteThat was such a wonderful music video; so enchanting and sweet. Yes, give me fairy tale love... What more can you ask for? I found my prince 10 years ago, and we've been living a fairy tale life together ever since.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. I read my children fairy tales when they were young. It's such a great way to boost the imagination and create magical worlds together.
Hi Martha, I loved the video too. The artist (Aoede/Lisa Sniderman) actually retweeted and tweeted a 'Thank You" for this post. I think these 'undiscovered' artists are so much better than some of the stuff the Corporate Music Industry tries to shove into our ears!
DeleteI am happy you found your Prince, I found mine over twenty years ago!
Love fairy tales, I held onto all the books I had for my kids in the hope that one day I will get to read them and pass them onto my grandkids when I get some.
ReplyDeleteDiane - loved the video...the art in the fairtale pages you shared is awesome. Who doesn't like living happily ever after - thanks for making me smile. God Bless
ReplyDeleteLove this post. I am a new follower around here!
ReplyDeleteThank You and Welcome!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry it has taken me so long to come over and visit you and thank you for joining in with my Tuesday Tune Link up! I've been on a break for a couple of weeks and am now getting back into the swing of it all again. Anyway, please know that I am so grateful for your support and I also loved this post! It sure was nice to take time to slow down, be calm and be transported into another world!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
