A Pin in a Haystack...

Do you ever feel like you are the last person to ever figure out what is going on? Well that is how I felt yesterday. Today I feel better much better. I didn't figure this out myself, someone helped me. This is not earth shattering, this is just me being somewhat technically challenged and needing some help.

I have been using Pinterest for gathering information and also for helping out friends with their endeavors. On Etsy we have been playing a game of pin-tag. I pin your stuff, you pin mine. Anyway, I should have looked for a good tutorial on how to use Pinterest first instead of relying on my own limited experience. I could not for the life of me figure out how to find out if my blog items had been pinned. I tried searching and checked their help information and could not find anything. So I figured maybe there wasn't a way yet to check. Wrong, after whining about it on an Etsy forum a wonderful person from Sweeter Than Sweets came to my rescue and helped me out. Here is the secret way to find out if your blog has been pinned!

Just insert your blog name where mine is and it will pull up pinned items from your blog! Amazing, fabulous and what a time saver. I thought I had to search through hundreds of pins looking for my little pin. A virtual pin in a haystack! Boy did I feel dumb. But then I realized there are probably a few of you out there who are just as untechy as me, so I thought I would share. Thank you again Sweeter Than Sweets you made my day a much happier one!

  1. That is great that you got help, You are not the only one that needs it...I had to have a friend at "The other side of me" blog do my blog layout, I could not get it right, and I have left it as she put it.

    I have not tried pinterest

  3. I've looked at pininterest several times, but everytime the front page had items that I found offensive, so I never went back. Besides, I have too much to do in the real world for something else to mess with. Just my opinion.

  5. Thanks for your comments! Debbi, sorry you have found pinterest offensive. You are right there have been a few weird pictures on there. Once you join you can tailor your items to what you like. I have removed a few people that were automatically put into my Follow stream because I didn't like the items they picked. Now I have mostly other Etsy people with similar tastes. I use the pictures to add to my blog as well as inspiration for new projects. The great thing about adding the pictures to your blog is that when you copy the embed code it transfers all the copyright and credit links back to the original artist or post. It actually saves a lot of time because I don't have to type in all of the attributions now. Try clicking on my Follow me on Pinterest and look at my boards. I hope you don't find anything that offends you there!

L&I, love the black kitty! I had a baby black kitty and he was with me for 18 years. Still miss him. He was a little cat-person and guess I will always be drawn to those cuties!
