Ginny last year in the garden.
It is with great sadness that I share the news that my beloved cat Ginny has passed away. She was sixteen years old and led a wonderful and long kitty life.
She was a sweet, gentle girl. Her best friend was another cat named Cocoa, whom she dearly loved. Cocoa passed away about four years ago. They were the best of friends and were inseparable. The past years have been met with declining health and illness, and one by one the joys of life slipped away.
With the help of my veterinarian, we sent her on her final journey and her suffering has ended. She will always hold a special place in my heart and will be greatly missed.
The one comfort I have is that in the spring, her ashes will be buried in the wild part of our garden next to her beloved friend Cocoa. Together, forever.

I'm taking a bit of time off from blogging.
I will see you all in a week or so.

It is so hard to let a beloved family member go. I am glad that Ginny had a long and fulfilling kitty life.

ReplyDeleteDiane, I know how heavy your heart is losing a family member, because they definitely are family. Thank you for sharing photos of your beautiful Ginny and Cocoa. Thinking of you....take care. Pam
ReplyDeleteMy sincerest condolences for the loss of Ginny. She looks like she was a truly beautiful soul. Our pets become a part of us. But you most definitely gave her a warm, loving, and happy life and that is something to always look back on and smile about :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. Take care.
ReplyDeleteCondolences on the loss of your beautiful girl, Diane. I'm sure her years with you were wonderful and now you can take comfort in the knowledge that she and Cocoa will be reunited and looking after each other once again. x
ReplyDeleteOh, I am sorry. We lost our cat, Minnie last year. I miss that girl.
ReplyDeleteLovely the two friends will be together again. Take care. xx
I am so sorry. Losing a pet is rough. (In June 2012 our "Tiger Lily" passed away at the age of 20 and then "Wendy" - her daughter - left us this past July at 18 years of age). I wish there were some magical words to make your pain go away, but just know that there are a lot of people out there that know what you're going through. You're not alone.
