Get Ready!

The Polar Vortex is on its way!!!  Schools have been canceled state wide and even some business's have chosen to stay closed.  We haven't seen the likes of this kind of cold in over ten years!

We are staying in the house on Monday! All day. No we will not be going out for a walk, maybe to get the mail or paper, if those brave souls get through their deliveries. It wouldn't bother me in the least if they just stayed home too! The high on Monday is supposed to be -15, yes MINUS 15 degrees. With the wind chill that makes it about 27 degrees below zero!

It's C-C-C-Cold!
See the X!! Minnesota is underneath it!

Bundle up, hunker down and have a big mug of hot chocolate!

Spring has sprung, Fall has fell, Winter's here and it's cold as ... well, you get the picture!

Love it..too cold

The upside, I'll have plenty of time to catch up on everyone's blogs!
Stay warm out there!! ~~ Diane

I can't even imagine what that kind of cold feels like. I've never felt anything even close to it in my life.

  3. It is crazy cold here too, but not like that! I would have to move, at this age, I can't live here much longer and deal with winter. I need to go South, south enough to never see snow again for as long as I live! Ugh! Hate the winter. Please stay as warm as you can. xo

  4. The UK is deluged in water, but it’s nothing compared with what you are all having to deal with. Keep warm and stay safe! I will be thinking of you. xx

Oh yeah we got the polar vortex in our neck of the woods too ~
We just hunker down and ride ponies in the snow ... well the rooster does anyway :)

  11. Crazy weather! 50 below is a bit much. We are in a melting phase at present.... got a foot + of snow on Friday, woke up 5 degree temps on Saturday, and now it's raining and in the high 50's ?
    I'm so confused......

  12. Dear Diane - we are to have extreme cold temps tomorrow...in fact our high is to be 3 with wind chill factor of 36-40...sounds like though you have us beat by far. Please stay in and stay warm my friend. Hopefully by the week-end we will be warming up again. In fact our weather forecast for Sunday is to be 42 degrees for a high (who can figure this crazy weather) - last night before temps started to drop it was 46 - unbelievable swings. Have a great day and I will be up to have some Hot Chocolate with you soon - Hugs.

  13. Haha Diane, this is such a cute post. I can't believe it's that cold where you live - do stay warm please. I thought it was cold here until I saw this! The dog and cat picture is so funny, and I chuckled with Maxine's quote. I love her. That hot chocolate looks yummy. I think I'll make myself some.

    Happy Monday.

    1. Hi Stacy and everyone... well I think we are through the worst of it. I and the animals did not go outside at all yesterday. Luckily my husband was here to feed the birds/squirrels etc., so i did not have to venture out! Today is much better, right now we are at zero degrees with full sun and no wind. I took Guy out and we were out for about 10 minutes. When I reached down to put him on a chair that I had covered with one of his blankies, he instead grabbed onto my shoulder so I would pick him up. He was very happy perched there looking around at the squirrels and blue jays! We are supposed to be up in the 30's by the weekend so it will feel like spring here (relatively speaking)! It is finally going to get warm enough to snow! Maybe we can finally try out our new Christmas snow shoes!! Hope everyone gets through this crazy weather OK. I'll see you all back in blog land in a few days. ~~ Diane

  23. It was 4 degrees when I left the house this morning! And by the weekend they say it will be back in the 50s! This is truly wacky winter weather.

  24. Hi Diane,

Oh my, haven't you guys had it cold. When in doubt, blame Canada. Over here in Britain, we are getting the impact of that polar vortex by having one storm after another. Although it's surprisingly mild here. Stay warm, drink hot chocolate and snuggle up. Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar is looking for a cat as a hat.

Happy and warmer ahead 2014 to you and your loved ones.

    Gary :)
